Russellville Steel Company, Inc. has been in existence since September 1965. H. W. Mitchener and John Trusty purchased the company, as it is known today in June 1971. The Company is primarily engaged in fabrication of steel for industrial and commercial building components throughout the forty-eight contiguous states. The Company functions generally as a material supplier to general construction contractors who actually perform the erection and other aspects of the projects. Throughout its history, RSC's product has been structural and miscellaneous steel with fabrication of the products occurring as RSC's Russellville facility. RSC has maintained its current location at 280 Steel City Lane since 1972. The business location sits on approximately 30 acres parallel to Interstate 40 and is easily accessible for RSC's fleet line, which currently consists of 6 tractors with flatbed trailers. Over time RSC's core customer base has remained the same-general contractors engaged in construction of commercial structures for which RSC functions as a material supplier. Typically, RSC processes orders for 135 projects per year. From 1971 to 1994 H. W. Mitchener and John Trusty primarily managed RSC. However, in 1994 Mr. Trusty unexpectedly died of a heart attack. After Mr. Trusty's untimely death, Mr. Mitchener actively managed the company cultivating a management team which assists in overseeing general business actives, sales, facility operations, and supervision of RSC's 87 employees. Following Mr. Trusty's death, Mr. Mitchener actively pursued a management transition plan in order to ensure a smooth transition upon his eventual retirement from the company, which occurred in early 2000. Since that time Trish Henry and Chris Knoles have acquired ownership of the company and serve and it's present executive management team.
